Deputy education minister and director of the ministry’s Quran, Etrat and prayer department Mikaeil Baqeri said the have been selected after winning the top ranks in a qualification contest held this week at Shahid Bahonar Campsite in Tehran.
He said Mehdi Akbari Zarrin from Qom Province and Seyed Mohammad Sadeq Hosseini Razavi Khorasan Province will compete for Iran in the international event’s recitation and memorization category, the boys’ section.
In the girls’ section, Asma Falaki from Razavi Khorasan and Mohanna Qanari from Gilan will represent Iran, he stated.
The 8th edition of the international Holy Quran competition for school students is planned to be held in Iran in early 2024.

Baqeri further noted that Bangladesh has sent an invitation to Iran for introducing its representative, aged below 16, to compete in the South Asian country’s international Quran contest.
Hence, he added, Amir Hadi Bairami from Ardebil Province will be dispatched to the Quranic event in Bangladesh.
