Qanbari, who has put on display here artworks at the international section of the 30th Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition, told IQNA that arts can play a major role in promoting Islamic concepts and teachings in the world.

She said she has attended exhibitions in different countries and her works have attracted many people, including non-Muslims.

It is the second time the Afghan artist is taking part in the Tehran Quranic expo.

Qanbar said she has been creating and selling artworks in the field of quilling.

Many of her works feature Quranic and Islamic themes like verses of the Holy Quran, the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, the Grand Mosque in Mecca, and the phrase Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim (in the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful).

Quilling involves using strips of paper that are rolled, looped, curled, twisted and otherwise manipulated to create different shapes, and glued together to create decorative designs.
