According to Ad-Dastour website, the center has been established by the country’s Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places.

It will serve those in the province who wish to learn Quranic and religious sciences or want to memorize the Holy Book, Mohammad al-Majali, director of the Awqaf department in Tafileh said.

He added that the center has temporarily launched in a mosque but will soon be relocated to another building.

New educational means and methods are used at the center to teach Quranic sciences to the youth, he said, noting that the first Quranic course will get underway next week.

The course will include lessons on memorization and Tafseer (interpretation) of the Quran, Islamic theology, Hadiths of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and Arabic language, the official stated.

He added that the course will last for six months and those who successfully pass an exam at the end of the course will receive certificates of attendance from the Awqaf ministry.

Jordan is a Muslim-majority country in the Middle East. Followers of Islam make up around 95 percent of the Arab country's population.
