Imam Reza Holy Shrine Source of Calm in Pandemic: Foreign Pilgrims

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Upon easing Corona restrictions across the country, Imam Reza holy shrine has hosted growing number of foreign pilgrims who find the holy shrine a source of calm during hard days of the pandemic.

 

Taking a walk inside Imam Reza holy shrine, one can see more foreign visitors and pilgrims in comparison to the first days of the pandemic.

“There is a large population here. Situation is normal and the most important point is that we can visit the holy chamber of Imam Reza (AS). All visitors and pilgrims enjoy calm and peace of mind here,” said Mohammad, a Lebanese pilgrim.   

An Omani pilgrim stated: “Pilgrimage situation at Imam Reza holy shrine has become much better; many pilgrims are here and service rendered to the people is good. I arrived four days ago and I found everything going well around here.”

Talking about his experience and feeling on his trip to Mashhad and on his pilgrimage, a Pakistani pilgrim said: “When I entered Mashhad, I found it very beautiful. In fact, I got an exciting mood as soon as I arrived in the city. Visiting the holy shrine, I got a real sense of comfort. The holy shrine is very beautiful and we had unforgettable times here. I bought holy shrine perfume, veil (Chador) for the ladies, and some precious stones.”

Finally, Ali, an Iraqi pilgrim, expressed his hope for better situation, saying “We can see return of normal life to Mashhad, like the past. I hope the situation will become better and better to turn Mashhad into a hub for all world Muslims once again”.

Large numbers of foreign pilgrims visit Imam Reza holy shrine every year and the complex provides them with many special services in their mother tongue among other services.
