According to Al-Arab news agency, some 30 boys and 20 girls aged 11 to 13 have participated in this year’s Quranic event.
The competition for boys is held at Katara Grand Mosque and the girls compete at Al-Dhahabi Mosque.
Memorization of some parts of the Holy Quran and some of Nabawi Hadiths, recitation of prayer, Wudhu (ablution), stories of the Divine prophets, Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Islamic rituals are the categories of the competition.
The closing ceremony of the contest will be held on Thursday, May 16.
The Katara Award is annually held by Katara Cultural Village Institute.
