TEHRAN (IQNA) – The so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has executed the prayers leader of the grand mosque in the Iraqi city of Mosul.

The news website al-Sumaria quoted a security official in the province of Nineveh as saying that the Takfiri group’s militants put Sheikh Ayub Abdul Wahab to death by firing squad on Sunday.
The official said the execution was carried out in the middle of the city as people were watching the Takfiri’s brutality.
The cleric had been taken away from his home in Mosul on Saturday.
ISIL is a terrorist group believed to be supported by the West and some regional Arab countries.
The extremist group, which controls parts of Syria's northern territory, sent its fighters into neighboring Iraq in June, quickly seizing large swaths of land straddling the border between the two countries.
The terrorists are engaged in crimes against humanity in the areas under their control. They have terrorized and killed people of all communities, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, and Christians.
