Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Faker Meibodi told IQNA that “Ayaat-e Hayaat” (verses of life), “Kalaam-e Naab” (noble sayings), “Nasim-e Hedaayat” (breath of guidance) and “Mabaaheth Al-Ma’ni min Majma’ Al-Bayan fi Tafsir Al-Quran” are the sources of the international Olympiad.
“Ayaat-e Hayaat” includes selections of the most valuable interpretations of the Holy Quran introduced for the second-level students of seminary schools and those at BA level of academic study.
The second source titled “Kalaam-e Naab” covers 70 sermons from Nahjul Balaqa with a translation by Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi and 9 supplications from Sahifa Sajjadiyyah of Imam Sajjad (AS) with a translation by Hojat-ol-Islam Ansariyan.
“Nasim-e Hedaayat”, the third source, covers interpretation of Surah Tahrim and explanation of sermon 160 of Nahjul Balaqa which clarifies lifestyle of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), some interpretations from Tafsir Nemune and Imam Khomeini’s (RA) message authored by Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi.
The last source, selected for the third-level seminary students and MA students, includes interpretation of Surah Fatiha and Baghara.
For the oral section of the Olympiad, a book titled “A Potion of Light” has been selected which includes some Quranic verses about lifestyle, translation and interpretation points, message of the verses, Tajweed principles and the Holy Quran in view of Imam Khomeini (RA).
Faker Meibodi, who is also research deputy of Imam Khomeini (RA) Complex of Higher Education, expressed hope that the next volumes of the sources to be compiled for the future editions of the Olympiad will provide the opportunity for the seminarians and students of the university to learn interpretation of the entire Quran and Hadiths of the infallibles (AS).
Developing Quran interpretation and Hadith studies in order to promote Quran-oriented education and training of seminarians and the youth and to improve their potentials to play more influential role in disseminating Islamic teachings is the main objective of the Olympiad to be organized by the university.
