Quran and Hadith Int’l Olympiad Concludes in Sri Lanka

The final stage of Quran and Hadith International Olympiad in Sri Lanka was held at Jama’at-ul-Islamiyyah School in Nawalapitiya, the Central Province.
According to IQNA’s branch in South Asia, a large number of seminary students attended the competition, which was organized by Al-Mustafa International University’s branch in the country.
The participants competed in the categories of memorization of the entire Quran, memorization of 20, and 10 Juzes (parts) of the Holy Quran as well as Quran recitation and translation categories.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the stage, Moulawi Burhanuddin, principal of the school hailed the organization of the Quranic program and stated that the international university has provided good opportunities for promoting the Quranic and Islamic culture among the youth in Sri Lanka.
Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Hamidreza Haqiqi, representative of the university in the city also presented a speech at the program discussing the status of the Holy Quran, effects of the teachings and concepts of the Divine Book in elevation of human beings and the role of the Holy Quran in development of various religious and scientific aspects of Islamic societies.
Activities of the international university’s branch in Sri Lanka, particularly in Quranic fields, were discussed at the end of the program.
