Tehran’s interim Friday prayer leader criticized international organizations for remaining silent over the killing of innocent people in the region.
In his Friday prayer sermon on February 22, Ayatollah Mohammad Emami-Kashani said the enemies of Islam have exploited sectarian dispute to provoke bloodshed and killing in countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and elsewhere in the Muslim world.
He slammed international organizations like the United Nations and the Security Council for the inaction over these crimes.
Elsewhere in his sermon, the senior cleric lauded the Iranian nation for their massive turnout in the rallies on February 10, marking the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory, saying that it is a Divine blessing that Iranian people have remained on the scene after 34 years and despite all the problems, pressures and sanctions.
“This keen presence is an indication of the insight and growth of the Iranian nations,” he underlined.
Ayatollah Emami-Kashani stressed that people’s participation in the revolution anniversary rallies disappoint the enemies and thwart their plots.
Tehran’s interim Friday prayer leader also commemorated the late Ayatollah Azizollah Khoshvaght who passed away in the holy city of Makkah earlier this week.
Expressing condolences over the demise of the teacher of ethics, Ayatollah Emami-Kashani described Ayatollah Khoshvaght as a great scholar whose conduct was a role model for seminary students since he was a student himself.
