Upholding Muslim Unity Stressed in Madagascar

Need for upholding and strengthening unity in the world of Islam was stressed at a forum in Madagascar.
According to IQNA’s branch in Africa, the program was held by representative of Al-Mustafa International University in Madagascar on the occasion of birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the Unity Week.
Islamic Shia Center of Madagascar also cooperated in organization of the forum hosted by Rasul Akram (PBUH) Center in Antananarivo, the capital city.
It was addressed by Shiekh Tahsin, member of Ithna-Ashari Khujahs of the country and Sheikh Monir, an official of the Islamic center.
Hojat-ol-Islam Pirniya, head of the international university’s branch in Madagascar, also presented a speech on Seerah and moral virtues of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and discussed the views of eminent intellectuals of the world about the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and unity in the world of Islam.
He said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was sent by God for guidance of all humans and if Muslims truly act upon verse 103 of Surah Ale Imran, which advises them to be united, they will become a good role-model for the world.
The scholar added that problems in the Muslim world are the result of ignoring the teachings of the Holy Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
The program included Quran recitation, Tawasheeh performance by students of Imam Sadeq (AS) School, Dar-ul-Hikmah and Rasul Akram (PBUH) Center as well as a choral religious song by a group of Sunni Muslims of the country.
Shia and Sunni Muslim participants performed a congregational prayer led by Hojat-ol-Islam Pirniya at the end of the forum and 14 participants whose name was “Muhammad” were gifted on the auspicious occasion.
Religious scholars, ambassadors of Iran and Indonesia to Madagascar, clerics of the country, seminary students of Imam Sadeq (AS), Tahura, Dar-ul-Hikmah and Al-Zahra (SA) schools attended the program on January 29.
