Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Reza Shahidipoor told IQNA that those well-versed in the fields of Holy Quran and Hadith from all over the world can present their talents in the Olympiad.
He said there are many talented Muslims in various countries like those in Africa who have no venue to present their capabilities and the Olympiad gives them the opportunity.
“Fortunately, both the number of categories and the number of contestants have risen in this year’s edition,” he added.
The Quran expert also noted that the Holy Quran is the pivot of unity and can enhance unity among seminary students.
Muslims have no differences when it comes to the Holy Quran and the Holy Book can be a guide toward unity, he underlined.
Hojat-ol-Islam Shahidipoor went on to say that different ethnicities are alike in view of the Quran and that is why seminarians attending the Olympiad are viewed the same though they are from different ethnic backgrounds.
