Nineteen male and seven female students were awarded the 12th grade certificates after they graduated from a seminary in the Jabulsaraj district of central Parwan province, an official said on Friday.
The graduates have memorized the Holy Quran after receiving two to five years training under the framework of the Ministry of Education, education director Hafiz Rahman Salihi told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The seminary head, Lutfur Rahman Qarizazad said more than 20 girls and boys received certificates after they successfully memorize the Holy Quran every year.
He added: "A number of youths who travelled to Pakistan to receive religious trainings and return to the country with wrong conceptions."
One of the graduates, Mohammad Najib, expressed pleasure, saying he was able to memorize the holy book within three years.
