During this year’s Umrah season, 850 Iranians can take the pilgrimage trip, which shows a 63 percent rise compared to the previous years.
Registration will be done in the provinces of Ardebil, West Azarbaijan, Ilam, Kermanshah, Bushehr, Khuzestan, Fars, Kerman, Kohkiluyeh, Gilan, Mazandaran, Hamedan, Golestan, Kordestan, Semnan, Sistan, Lorestan and Northern Khorasan.
This year’s Umrah pilgrimage will cost Iranian Hajiis between 17 and 28 million rilas based on different accommodation costs.
Previously, head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Saeed Ohadi had said that some 7 million Iranians are waiting in line to go on Umrah pilgrimage.
According to Mr. Ohadi, this year's Umrah season will begin in December.
He said the duration of Umrah trip this year is two days shorter than previous years, adding that the trip will last ten days, five days in Medina and five in Mecca.
Umrah, which is generally known as the ‘minor pilgrimage’ or ‘lesser pilgrimage’, is a pilgrimage trip to the holy city of Makkah in different months of the year other than the Hajj season (the lunar month of Dhul-Hajja).
