Quran Contest for Disabled Begins in Dubai
A total of 330 individuals are taking part in this edition, which is being held virtually due to the coronavirus restrictions, al-Bayan website reported.
They compete at ten different levels on memorization of the Holy Quran.
The competition will continue until April 29, according to the organizers.
The Quranic event is held in Dubai every year in the holy month of Ramadan.
It is aimed at encouraging those with disabilities to memorize the Book of God and identifying new talents among these groups of people
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.
They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
