Pointing to the recent desecration of the 10th Imam (AS), Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi said such incidents make it necessary for seminary students to do more to introduce the life and character of Imam Hadi (AS) to the society.
He made the remark on Sunday while addressing the induction ceremony of the new head of Amir-al-Mumenin School’s Quranic Sciences and Interpretation Center in Qom.
The grand Ayatollah urged seminarians to confront those who dare to desecrate the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
He further quoted a Hadith from Imam Hadi (AS) that says the world is like a market, some people gain in this market and some lose.
“This likening of the world to a market is worthy of close attention. A market is a place where people conduct trade to make profit and spend the gains somewhere else.
“According to Imam Hadi (AS), the world is not a place to stay. It is like a market. Man enters it with some capital in hand, then exchanges the capital with what he likes [and then leaves]. There are numerous devils in this market that seek to rob him of his capital.”
Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi noted that man’s capital in this world is his life, wisdom, and intelligence.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the grand source of emulation described the Holy Quran as the treasury in which all knowledge is found, urging the seminarians to carry out Quranic research.
He also called on the new head of Amir-al-Mumenin School’s Quranic Sciences and Interpretation Center Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmad Farrokhfal to launch a specialized Quranic journal to publish the best articles in the field of Quranic sciences and interpretation.
