Conveying the message of Islam and the Holy Quran to the world is only possible through the use of comparative and interdisciplinary approach, head of ISQAO said.
Speaking at a meeting with Hojat-ol-Islam Hadi Hosseinkhani, Tahzib (purification of soul) deputy of seminaries, on April 30, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mahdi Taghavi, head of Iranian Students Quranic Activities Organization, referred to the launch of the organization’s branch in Qom on May 2, adding: “The organization’s headquarters should be located in the holy city of Qom so that it can pursue its Quranic activities under the supervision of the seminaries and grand sources of emulation.”
Highlighting the role of the seminaries’ Tahzib deputy in launching the branch, he expressed hope that using the religious centers and figures in Qom would eradicate the scientific poverty in universities which is mainly rooted in their reliance on western sciences.
Hojat-ol-Islam Taghavi further referred to University Jihad Organization as an administrative center which seeks to educate and train skilled manpower for the country, adding that it also supervises the activities of ISQAO.
“Since last year, Iranian Students Quranic Activities Organization and Iranian Quran News Agency have been both moving toward specialization and interdisciplinary approaches, he went on to say,” adding that “the organization’s branches in all provinces are now capable of organizing Quran-based scientific and cultural forums and congresses in different interdisciplinary fields including economics, art and health care in particular.”
Referring to the Supreme Leader’s appreciation of the organization as an influential medium to convey the message of Islam and the Quran to the entire world, he noted: “The international section of IQNA is currently translating top news stories into 40 languages and the figure is expected to raise to 50 during the current Iranian year.”
“ISQAO is primarily seeking to convey Quranic teachings via the seminaries to universities and ultimately to the whole world and this is hardly possible without the use of comparative and interdisciplinary approach,” he further asserted.
Also, Hojat-ol-Islam Hadi Hosseinkhani, Tahzib deputy of seminaries, highlighted the significant role of the seminaries in the production of Quranic sciences, adding that ISQAO acts as a link between those who contributes to developing scientific issues and those who seek science.
“We are committed to train seminary students in the field of ethics following the Quranic rules,” he went on to say, expressing readiness to cooperate with ISQAO in fostering common Quranic plans in society.
He further referred to the inauguration of a number of centers by the deputy, including the cultural-educational, cultural and socio-political, consultation, family affairs as well as information-dissemination centers to consolidate the solidarity between seminaries and universities.
