Quranic Activities, Main Cultural Activity in University Jihad

Head of the University jihad Organization said cultural issues constitute the foundation of all activities in the organization, the main section of which are Quranic activities.
According to IQNA’s Qom branch, Dr Mohammd Hossein Yadegari in a meeting with Ayatollah Alavi Gorgani on Saturday, April 7, added that the organization’s Quranic activities are mainly carried out in the field of research on Quran and sciences.
Pointing to the history of the University Jihad, he said it was founded in 1980 by the Cultural Revolution Headquarters. “In the past 32 years, it has made precious accomplishments, though we have yet to meet all the expectations of the Islamic establishment from the organization.”
He referred to University Jihad affiliates ISNA and IQNA news agencies and said IQNA now disseminates Quranic news and reports in 40 languages.
Dr Yadegari added that the organization is launching a website dedicated to Islamic Awakening, urging university and seminary students to present their reports and analyses related to the issue of Islamic Awakening via the website.
He further cited the University Jihad’s achievements in scientific fields, especially in the fields of stem cell research and infertility treatment, and said good progress has been made in these fields.
