Int’l Book Fair of Islamic Countries To Be Held in Qom

Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance in Qom Province called for holding an international exhibition of Islamic countries' books in the holy city of Qom.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2nd edition of Hawza Book Fair, Seyyed Morteza Esma’ili Taba suggested that an international exhibition of religious books be held in the holy city of Qom, given the status of Qom Province in production and distribution of religious works in the country as well as other countries, and presence of thousands of publishers and researchers in this province.
He also referred to the 30-percent increase in the number of local and foreign publishers and the works presented at this edition of Hawza book fair.
He said that the specialized exhibition has been organized by the Publishers Union in cooperation with the private sector.
“160 publishers, including some from Lebanon and Iraq, have presented their works in 90 pavilions of the expo,” the official pointed out.
The 7th provincial book exhibition and the first edition of specialized book festival of children and youth are also underway on the sidelines of the exhibition.
Religious books are presented with a 40 to 60 percent discount to seminary students at the exhibition.
It will be underway until January 17 at Imam Khomeini (RA) Cultural Complex in the holy city of Qom.
