17th Quran Olympiad of Al-Musatafa Int’l University Held in Qom

The 17th edition of international Olympiad of Quran interpretation, concepts and sciences of Al-Mustafa International University was held on November 18 in the holy city of Qom.
Hussein Asadi, Director Genral of Quran and Hadith of the university told IQNA: “this edition of contest was held with participation of 2 thousand non-Iranian seminary students at Imam Khomeini (RA) Higher Education Complex.
He added that the oral section of the contest has also been planned to be held on Quran interpretation for PhD students and lecturers and the sources for competition of students at MA and BA levels and Diploma will be “Islamic Ethics System” by Ayatollah Sobhani, Tafseer Nemuneh and interpretation of Surah Anfal by Hojat-ol-Islam Qaraati, respectively.
Competition in Quranic sciences will be based on “Quran Sciences” by Hojat-ol-Islam Sa’eedi Roshan and the book by Ayatollah Ma’refat.
5 and 10 parts (Juzes) of the Quran have been selected for Quranic concepts category of the Olympiad.
The final stage of the oral section will be held in Fajr Decade (anniversary of Islamic revolution’s victory) with participation of seminarians from 72 nations.
According to the director, the Olympiad includes 92 categories in which 4000 students from Iran and over 10 thousands from abroad have registered.
200 seminarians will be awarded following the final stage of the oral competition.
