‘Top Qari’ Quran Competition Underway in Karbala
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The first stage of the third edition of Iraq’s “Top Qari” national Quran competition is underway in the holy city of Karbala.
According to Qaaf news agency, Wathiq Hamoud Al-Mousawi, head of the organizing committee, said that the national Quranic event has been received well as a large number of Quran reciters have applied to participate at the competition.
He added that this stage, attended by 100 contestants, will conclude on the 26th of the holy month of Ramadan (June 1).
In this round, the members of the committee visit mosques and Quranic sessions in different parts of the country to evaluate and select top Qaris in daily Ramadan Quran recitations, he said.
The second stage of the competition, will be organized by Al-Zahra (SA) Quranic Association starting from the 28th of the holy month (June 3).
