Sheikh Jassim Quran Competition Underway in Qatar

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim bin Muhammad bin Thani Holy Quran competition began on May 17.

 

According to alarab website, the competition in “Muhtadin” category started at the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zeyd Al Mahmoud Cultural Islamic Center.

It has 234 participant, including 118 female and 116 male Quran activists from Bangladesh, India, Cameroon, Ghana, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Kenya, Uganda, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.

The participants compete on three levels of memorization and recitation of surah Fatiha, short surahs of Quran to surah Al-Qari’ah, half of the 30th Juz’(part) to surah A-A’la, and surah Fatiha and the entire 30th Juz’.

The competition is supervised by 15 committees of Quran experts, 7 for men and 8 for women.
