2,000 Register for Kuwait Nat’l Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Some 2000 Quran reciters and memorizers have registered for the 22nd edition of “Al-Kharafi” national Quran competition in Kuwait.

 

 

According to mugtama.com, Nasir Hamoud Dabous, head of the organizing committee of the competition said that February 7 is the deadline for registration at www.kharafiquran.com.

He added that the competition will be held for all different age groups as well as expatriates residing in Kuwait.

Memorization of Hizbs (parts) 59 and 60 of the Quran with observation of Tajweed principles, memorization of one Juz with Tajweed, and memorization of three Juzes with Tajweed are the three categories of the competition respectively planned for children under 8, teenagers under 15 and the youth under 25 years of age.

Other participants will compete on memorization of five Juzes with observation of Tajweed principles, the official said.

He added that another competition will be held on the sidelines of the Quranic event for the disabled including the members of Kuwait’s Autism Center, the Association of the Hearing Impaired, and the Society of the Visually Impaired.
