Blind Girl Memorizes Quran despite Cancer
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A visually-impaired Egyptian girl has learned the entire Quran by heart despite suffering from cancer.
Hunain Ashraf Abolainan Muhammad, 9, began memorizing the Quran at the age of three, according to al-Yawm al-Sabi website.
Hunain had been diagnosed with cancer when she was just 9 months old.
Two months later she lost her eyesight to cancer. But even this did not prevent her from striving to learn the Quran.
She managed to memorize the entire Holy Book at the age of 7.
The 9-year-old, who is a fourth-grader at an Al-Azhar educational center in Egypt’s al-Sahrqia governorate.
She has won several local, regional and national Quran competitions so far.
