TEHRAN (IQNA) – The top participants in this year’s national examination on Quran memorization and Quranic concepts were honored in a ceremony on Sunday.

The ceremony was held at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) in Tehran on the sidelines of the 35th International Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

A number of officials, including Head of Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Mohammadi, Head of Iranian Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR) Hamid Reza Tayyebi, and Head of Iranian Academics’ Quranic Activities Center Hamid Saber Farzam attended the function.

In an address, Iranian Culture Ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy Abdolhadi Feqhizadeh noted that the examination was held in over 400 cities across Iran.

He added that more than 240,000 school students took the exam, which was held in 27 categories of Quran memorization and Quranic concepts back in January.

Also at the ceremony, managers of three media outlets, including the International Quran News Agency (IQNA), were honored for best covering the news of the Quranic examination.
