Qom to Host Int’l Quranic Studies Conference

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 11th edition of Iran’s International Quranic Studies Conference will be held in the holy city of Qom on April 17-19.

 

According to Reza Amani, the secretary of the conference, the city’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Higher Education Center will host the event.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, he said “Holy Quran and Fighting Arrogance” is the main theme of this edition.  

He said a total of 1115 papers, including 985 papers by Iranian scholars and 130 by those from other countries were submitted to the secretariat of the conference, adding that 500 of the papers will be published digitally and that 68 ones are going to be presented at the conference.

According to Amani, Ayatollah A’arafi, director of Iran’s Seminaries, as well as 30 foreign guests will be among the participants in the closing ceremony of the conference.

The international scholarly event is aimed at encouraging scholars and thinkers to study different aspects of the Quran and its teachings and sciences and displaying the comprehensiveness of the teachings of the Quran and Islam in guiding human beings, he went on to say.

The conference will be held concurrently with five international Quran contests in Iran, namely those for men, women, visually-impaired, seminary students and university students.
