Qom to Host Int’l Quran Contest for Seminary Students
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Director of Iranian Seminaries’ Quran and Etrat Department said planning is underway for holding the first international Quran competition for Islamic seminary students.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mostafa Razavi told IQNA that it will be jointly organized by Al-Mustafa International University and with support from the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization.
He said the holy city of Qom is to host the Quranic event in May 2017, concurrent with the annual international Quran competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iranian seminary students will compete with some 100 seminary students from other countries, the official added.
As for the categories of the contest, he said they include Quran recitation, memorization of the Quran, Tarteel recitation, and research papers on the Quran and new Islamic civilization.
