The main requirements for Islamic civilization-building are Islamic intellectuality, Islamic ethics and values, and Islamic conduct, a university scholar said.
Addressing a scientific forum on “Seminary and Islamic Lifestyle”, Hassan Rahimpour Azghadi urged that Islamic seminaries should introduce Kharej courses on Islamic lifestyle and aspects of Islamic civilization-building.
The forum was held at Qom’s Masumiyeh Seminary on Sunday, January 6.
He said Islamic seminaries ought to produce scientific works about Islamic lifestyle a thousand times more than they do about other Fiqhi issues.
The member of the Supreme Cultural Revolution Council noted that seminary students should adapt their life, conduct, and behavior with Islamic values in order to introduce a model of Islamic lifestyle to the society.
He said in order to draw a model of Islamic lifestyle, one should bear in mind that today’s life is divided into two parts, religious and non-religious. “The religious part refers to aspects of life in which the individual worships God, attends religious ceremonies, carries out religious duties, etc.
“The non-religious part of life is one which is common to all humans, religious or otherwise. In this part, it can be said that we have fallen behind the Western world.”
Rahimpour Azghadi noted that some think that being religious just means observing the external religious appearances and do not attach importance to the other part of life.
He underlined that in Islamic lifestyle, the religious and non-religious parts of life are inseparable and that all aspects of life should be Islamic.
The university scholar noted that Islam, Quranic verses and Hadiths by the Infallibles (AS) provide guidelines for the smallest aspects of human life, urging that a model should be introduced based on these guidelines.
He warned that if the Islamic seminary fails to fulfill its responsibility in this regard, the West will enter the life of Muslim societies through its media and cultural onslaughts.
Rahimpour Azghadi further said that while the West managed to influence Muslims’ life in the past hundred years, Imam Khomeini (RA) by initiating the Islamic Revolution movement and giving rise to the Islamic Awakening revived the Islamic lifestyle.
