Some 800 seminary students from the holy city of Qom will go to Tehran on Tuesday January 8, to renew allegiance with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
This is according to Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mohammad Reza Borqei, an official with the Islamic development office of Qom Seminary who told IQNA that seminary students are very keen on meeting with Imam Khamenei.
He said the meeting takes place every year on the occasion of Dey 19 (January 8), which marks the anniversary of January 8, 1978, when the people of Qom rose up against the oppressive rule of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
Hojat-ol-Islam Borqei noted that given the intensified threats from the enemies and also the upcoming presidential elections, there will be a more enthusiastic presence of seminary students in the meeting with the Supreme Leader this year.
