Imam Khomeini (RA) 1st Int’l Festival Planned in Qom

The first edition of Imam Khomeini (RA) international festival is set to be held by Qom seminary’s Political Studies Association in 2013.
Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Kazem Seyyed Baqeri, secretary of the event, said that the festival has been planned with the aim of promoting the level of Islamic political studies and developing Islamic political knowledge at seminaries.
He added that organizers of the festival also plan to identify research potentials of the seminary students and meet the needs of seminaries in this respect.
The secretary of the first edition of the international event went on to add that localization of knowledge in political fields, introduction of top researchers and authors in political studies and encouraging authors and researchers in this field form the main objectives of the program.
Eminent international figures have been invited to participate in the program, he noted.
The festival will include two sessions to be held in January and June 2013, respectively.
The first session will focus on top books, magazines and institutes actively involved in political fields and the second session will be devoted to discussing political views of Islam based on the needs of the society.
Those willing to attend the festival can send their works, including books and theses, to the secretariat of the program by August 21.
The festival will be organized by the Research and International Deputies of the Qom Seminary in cooperation with academic institutes.
The Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the Institute for Compilation and Publication of Imam Khomeini’s (RA) Works, Research Center for Islamic Culture and Sciences, IRIB, Al-Mustafa International University, University of Religions and Islamic Schools of Thoughts, Howze Services Center, Research Center for Islamic Culture and Thought and Governorate of the holy city of Qom will also cooperate in holding the international festival.
